Come Home to Camp Sholom
Happy voices greet the day with ruach, the incredible Jewish spirit, as Camp Sholom offers another fun-filled summer. Camp Sholom is an incomparable blend of diversified, high-quality camping experiences in a warm, healthy, safe and positive Jewish environment. Give your child the gift that will last a lifetime – a summer of endless discovery through friendship and fun.
Camp Sholom is not just a summer experience, it is a life experience. Campers form lasting bonds with their friends and their Jewish culture. Alumni of Camp Sholom continue to attest to the enriching experiences that have become part of their heritage, as they remember the ruach.
Another Song Will Rise
Camp Sholom integrates the Jewish experience into daily activities. We open every day with Jewish songs and morning blessings. Hebrew words flow freely and easily. Staff members are known as madrichim (leaders) and each unit has a Hebrew name, such as Rishonim (the ‘first ones’) Chalutzim (pioneers) and Habonim (builders).
As the culmination of every week, Camp Sholom prepares and celebrates Shabbat together. Our Shabbat experience includes preparing ourselves and the camp for Shabbat with challah braiding and Shabbat-O-Grams. At the end of the day, the camp gathers together with songs and blessings to welcome the Sabbath Queen.
Something For Everyone…
Stimulating self-achievement, fostering Jewish consciousness and building relationships are the cornerstones of the Camp Sholom program. While enjoying themselves and learning Jewish values, campers gain self-esteem, confidence and socialization skills throughout the summer. Add caring and responsible staff, well-structured programs and exciting field trips to the recipe for a winning combination that keeps youngsters coming back for more, year after year.
Summer Means fun for Kindergarten to Grade 6
Camp Sholom entices both first-time and experienced campers, who are divided into age-appropriate units. Each camper participates in a variety of activities, including arts, crafts, sports, swimming, music and Judaic programs. Units also come together to participate in overnights, beach activities, field trips and our camp-wide Shabbat experience each week.
Avodah: An Experience for 7th-9th Grade
Avodah is an exciting program that gives our older campers an incredible summer experience. Avodah participants develop important leadership skills as they bridge the gap from camper to camp leader. In addition to participating in the overall excitement of Camp Sholom, Avodah participates in a special overnight adventure.
Camp Sholom Offers 5-Day and 3-Day Camp Programs!
In addition to our regular 5-day program, Camp Sholom is pleased to provide a 3 day per week program for our campers. This program provides a great opportunity for those first-time campers as well as those who are looking for a variety in their summer plans. The 3 day program is scheduled for Monday, Wednesday, and Friday during which campers will go swimming, participate in fun on-site activities, and enjoy Shabbat at the end of the week with the entire Camp Sholom community.
